The goal of Minesweeper is to uncover all the empty squares on the grid without clicking on a mine. When you start a game, you will see a grid of covered squares. Tap on any square to reveal what lies beneath. Your first tap is always safe. When you uncover a square, it might be blank, or it might contain a number. A blank square means there are no mines in any of the 8 surrounding squares, and those adjacent safe squares will automatically open up for you. If a square shows a number, that number tells you exactly how many mines are hidden in the 8 squares immediately touching it (horizontally, vertically, and diagonally).
