Playing Miner Rush is all about timing and quick reflexes. When you start the game, your one-eyed drilling character will begin sliding horizontally across the top layer of the ground. Your objective is to dig downwards without letting the drill slide completely off the screen. To dig, simply tap anywhere on the screen. The moment you tap, the drill will change its direction from moving horizontally to drilling straight down through the block directly below it. Once it finishes breaking through that layer, it will immediately resume sliding horizontally on the new level of dirt. The challenge lies in timing your taps perfectly. If you wait too long and the drill hits the extreme left or right edge of the screen, the game is over. You must tap to dig down before that happens.
